I don't have a Maternity dress to wear in my session.
No worries at all! I have a collection of beautiful dresses that you are welcome to wear during your session. The catalog of available dresses will be sent to you in your confirmation email, after you book your maternity photography session. You will be able to browse through the dress collection at the time of your studio session, to choose your favorites to wear for the duration of your session
When do newborn sessions take place?
Newborn photography sessions are scheduled between 5-20 days. This is done for several reasons. Newborns this young are more likely to “curl up” and remain sleepy for the duration of the session. They are much more tolerant of being posed and moved around than a 3 or 4 week old. Almost all of the “sleepy newborn” shots you see here on the website were done with newborns 20 days old or younger. If your baby is older than 20 days old, don’t worry, we can still capture beautiful photos!
How do I book a session when I’m not sure when baby will be born?
Newborn Sessions are usually set up in the 2nd or 3rd trimester. Once you decide you are ready to set up your newborn session, reach out to us by filling out a session request. A response will be given within 24hr with availability around your due date. As soon as you confirm to the given date, your session will be than be set up. You will receive a confirmation/welcome email. This email will give you all of the details of your upcoming session and will include a guide to "how to prepare" for your session. You will also be guided to fill out a New Client Information form. Following the confirmation/welcome email, you will receive an invoice for your Creative Session Fee. This Creative Session Fee and the New Client Information Form are due within 24hrs of setting up your session date and time. Once your Creative Session fee and New Client Information Form are completed, your tentative session date and time is secured on my calendar. The tentative session date will be calculated about 5-20 days after your due date. You will be offered the best session date available. If your baby arrives on any other day besides your due date, let me know as soon as possible (ideally within the first couple of days and absolutely before baby is 7 days) and we will move your session date to fit into that 5-20 day window, if necessary. If you do not contact me within that first week, I cannot guarantee availability before the 2 week mark, so please contact me as soon as possible. I always try to leave availability for my newborns, but I do have other photography sessions scheduled in advance.
How do I prepare for my newborn photo shoot?
Upon setting up your session date and time, you will receive a confirmation/welcome email. This email will include all of the details of your upcoming session and it will include a guide to "how to prepare" for your session.
How long does a session last?
Maternity or child sessions can last about 1-2 hours. Newborn sessions often run long due to the nature and frequent nurturing of the infant; expect a minimum of 2 hours for full newborn photography sessions. I do not rush the session, and I let baby take as many breaks as needed. Baby’s comfort and safety is my number one priority.
Where is my session going to take place?
Newborn sessions take place in my studio, where we have access to all of my custom props and beautiful studio lighting. Maternity and Children sessions can take place at a location of your choice or in studio. All outdoor sessions must be within 30 minutes of Murfreesboro TN. November thru April, all sessions are done in studio due to the unpredictable winter weather. All outdoor sessions open back up on April 1st.
When is my session fee due?
All photography sessions have a non-refundable Creative Session Fee of $150.00. This Creative Session Fee is required to secure your session. You will also be sent a link to fill out a New Client Information Form. Please submit these within 24 hours of setting up your session date and time. If your Creative Session Fee has not been submitted within 24 hours of setting up your session, you will be notified and your spot will be released. It will then be open backup for availability.
Confirmation Email!!
Once your session date is set up, you will receive a confirmation email. This email will give you all the details of your session. There will also be a guide to your session. This will help you prepare for the big day. Along with this confirmation email, you will receive a link to fill out your New Client Information Form and an invoice for your creative session fee. These are both due within 24hrs of setting up your session.
